Dr. James Mattey
Dr. Mattey graduated cum laude from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Biochemistry. He received his M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. His pediatric residency was completed at The Children’s National Medical Center. Following residency, he spent an additional two years in Allergy and Immunology fellowship training at Children’s. Dr. Mattey joined the Pediatric Care Center in 1988.
Dr. Mattey is especially interested in childhood food allergy and asthma. Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Allergy and Immunology, he is actively involved in several pediatric and allergy, asthma and immunology societies, both locally and nationally. As an Assistant Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at The George Washington University School of Medicine, he teaches residents and fellows in Pediatrics and Allergy and Immunology. Dr. Mattey is the Director of the Pediatric Care Center.
